Big Boss Gets His Own Dog

Big Boss Gets His Own Dog

As posted via Konami’s official Twitter account on Sunday, September 21, during this year’s Tokyo Game Show it was revealed that Big Boss, the predecessor to Solid Snake, would be getting his very own dog in the latest addition to the Metal Gear Solid franchise, Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain .

Referred to as “Diamond Dog,” the dog itself looks to be a hybrid breed betwixt husky and wolf. In addition to images posted on the official Metal Gear Solid Facebook page, it’s made clear that Diamond Dog is introduced to Big Boss while still a pup, who later grows up into a rather wolf-like dog with an eye-patch.

Recent gameplay footage of The Phantom Pain was released back in June, showcasing the game running at 1080p, 60 frames per second . With YouTube soon to be implemented with the functionality of viewing video game footage at 60 frames per second , you’ll soon be able to view The Phantom Pain’s gameplay in its most accurate representation.

Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain is slated to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. A PC version is also in the works, but a PC port is currently not on the developer’s top priority list. We’ll bring you more news on the game should further information reach our ears.
