Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes Runs At 1080p on PS4 and 720p on Xbox One

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes Runs At 1080p on PS4 and 720p on Xbox One

Earlier today, Hideo Kojima confirmed via the Konami Japan website that Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will run at 1080p and 60 fps on the PS4 and 720p and 60 fps on the Xbox One. Additionally, both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game will also run at 720p and 30 fps respectively. A full side-by-side comparison of screenshots can be seen on the website.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes is the highly anticipated prologue to the full Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain video game. Earlier this month, Ground Zeroes came under scrutiny from several industry critics who openly complained about the game’s campaign length. Kojima responded to these claims by saying that the game was a lot longer than previously reported due to the optional side missions and timed trials that players can participate in afterward.

After hearing this news, I would say that I’m not personally surprised to hear that the PS4 version of the game will be viewed as the better version. Kojima has always had a better relationship with the PlayStation brand as a whole, and it’s easy to see how this could impact the game’s release on the next-gen console.
