BioWare Addresses Star Wars: TOR’s Server Issues

None

I you were one of the lucky few to pre-order Star Wars: The Old Republic, you were probably able to play the game before the servers opened up to the masses today. However, unless you had plenty of time to spare, there’s a good chance you didn’t even get into the game.

The server queues in The Old Republic are extremely long right now, and BioWare knows this. They are currently working to address the issue, but they have said it’s a delicate balance between creating servers that are easy to access and servers that are populated enough to create a thriving online community.

Jeff Hickman, SWTOR’s executive producer, put it this way in a post on the game’s web site: “On one hand, you do not want people to wait too long—on the other hand, you want to make sure that people have a dynamic, engaging community to play with for long after launch. Either way, we have one clear objective—to make sure folks have fun. While we can’t promise that there won’t ever be queues, we can promise you that we are taking this matter seriously and constantly reviewing them to make sure that they are manageable and reasonable.”

Hopefully it won’t be too long before this issue is straightened out and we can all get our digital lightsaber fix.
