BioWare Co-Founders Retire

BioWare Co-Founders Retire

BioWare recently announced the departure of co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk. The two founded the company in 1995 and have been with it through Baldur’s Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Mass Effect.

Zeschuk and Muzyka both seem to be done with the world of video games. Neither seems to have left BioWare for any reason other than to further their own life.

Both have published letters describing what they will do after their departure. Zeschuck said that he will be spending more time with his family and friends. He also says he may go into the world of beer, hoping to start producing a web-based series on beer and notable beer breweries.

Muzyka, on the other hand, says he will be moving on to a new entrepreneurial field with more social impact. He really believes in the power of free enterprise to enable sustainable change, according to his letter, and he hopes to use his resources to make the world a better place. He also says he will be spending time getting involved with charities that deal with health care, education, and animal rights.

Simply put, these are some of the most awesome plans we have heard from former video game company founders. We wish both of them the best.
