Timed exclusivity is the dumbest industry trend in gaming at the moment. Has anyone ever decided to purchase a console because of time exclusive DLC? No. People own whatever console they own, and timed exclusive releases don’t do anything except piss off your fan-base on the console you’re shafting. Treyarch and Activision decided, for whatever reason, to favor the PS4 this gen and release all of the Black Ops III DLC on Sony’s console a month earlier than anywhere else. Since July, PS4 players have been enjoying Black Ops III ‘s latest DLC, Descent.
Today, Descent arrives on Xbox One and PC. This is by far the best DLC for Treyarch’s futuristic shooter to date. It includes four new multiplayer maps: Berserk, Cryogen, Rumble, and Empire. It also introduces a new episode to Zombies mode, Gorod Krovi . Just when you thought Zombies couldn’t get any crazier, Gorod Krovi introduces giant robots and a dragon that you can briefly ride. It’s like Mars Attacks meets Game of Thrones , and what’s not to love about that? Descent will set you back $15 on its own, and will unlock automatically for season pass owners.
