Brothers Franchise Gets Sold For Half a Million Dollars

Acclaimed indie game Brothers: A tale of Two Sons has been sold, and we don’t mean on a Steam sale. The whole franchise has been sold to 505 Games from its original studio Starbreeze. By purchasing the IP, 505 had gained full entitlement to the game, trademarks, domain names, and more.

Starbreeze CEO Bo Andersson Klint said that the IP could best be served under a new owner at this point. It’s part of a shift toward a new digital strategy for the company. Starbreeze will be focusing on its other IPs, such as the Payday series, for the near future.
