You knew it was coming right? No triple-a game’s release comes without some form of controversy in its earliest days, and Destiny is no exception. Last week we got our first taste of this.
After a bug revealed hidden content inside the title’s programming (which suggests where future DLC may lead), the internet rumor mill immediately kicked into high-gear. So much so, Bungie has finally found the need to address it. Community Mananger David Dague (aka DeeJ) responded to this speculation over the weekend by saying “We’ve seen a lot of theories about Bungie on the Internet this week. I understand why that stuff is compelling. The drama of the rumor mill is a symptom of a greater issue: We all want Destiny to be better.”
But don’t misconstrue this as Bungie giving any credence to one fan theory over another. Frankly, DeeJ finds this kind of rampant whirl-wind of “what-ifs” distracting, stating that “…sifting through gossip in search of truth doesn’t bring us any closer to a stronger game.”
