Call of Duty: Beachhead Ops

Call of Duty: Beachhead Ops

None

Since its release in November of 2010, Call of Duty: Black Ops has brought in more than $1 billion in sales. Given recent developments, such as the cancellation of the Guitar Hero and True Crime franchises, Activision has decided to capitalize on the record-shattering success of Black Ops by creating a new studio that will focus exclusively on the Call of Duty franchise.

Downloadable content is nothing new to the gaming industry, especially when online multiplayer is such a prominent attraction with games like Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops. Enter Beachhead Studios. Beachhead’s focus for Call of Duty’s online content will likely bring the game’s future downloadable content to a whole new level with more frequent updates and better support for online functionality. While this is still speculation, the creation of Beachhead presents a new and interesting dynamic to the franchise’s online gaming community.
