Castlevania: Dracula X is a linear action platformer from the iconic Castlevania series. It was released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1995. This game is also known as Castlevania: Vampire’s Kiss in Europe or Akumajō Dracula XX in Japan. It was developed and published by Konami, known for its franchises like Castlevania, Metal Gear, and physical card games such as YuGiOh.
The game is a remake of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and uses most of its design and plot. But it has its own new levels and gameplay elements. Players love it for its updated color palette and graphics. While Castlevania: Dracula X is considered one of the best traditional Castlevania games, it holds mixed reviews. The main critique is that it is inferior to Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and too similar to be considered a separate game.
Castlevania: Dracula X Premise
This 2D action-adventure takes place in medieval Transylvania. Several hundred years after the heroic Simon Belmont defeated Count Dracula, he has been revived. To rebuild his strength he spends his days recovering in his coffin and his nights secretly preying on the innocent.
Now to get revenge on the Belmont bloodline, the evil Dracula is after Richter Belmont. To lure Richter to his lair, Dracula kidnaps Richter’s girlfriend Annet and her sister Maria. Richter must follow in his ancestor’s monster-hunter footsteps to save the day and defeat the evil Count.

Castlevania: Dracula X Main Character
Unlike Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Castlevania: Dracula X only has one playable character. In this gothic horror game, players control Richter Belmont. Richter is the descendent of legendary hero Simon Belmont who once sealed Dracula away. After Dracula kidnaps Richter’s girlfriend, Richter arms himself with his ancestor’s sacred whip. He must go on a monster-killing quest to seal away the evil Count Dracula.

Castlevania: Dracula X Cheat Code FAQ
Does Castlevania: Dracula X have any cheat codes?
Yes! The game has several codes. There is a password screen that lets you go to any level you want, including the final boss fight. For players with a Game Genie or Pro Action Replay, there is a variety of codes that let players have an advantage or disadvantage of their choice. Players can have infinite health, reduced energy, special weapons, and more!
What are cheat codes?
Cheat codes are exploits that change the game’s behavior and give players an advantage. They may help move on to a different level, make the player completely immune to damage, or do some other action that wouldn’t take place without them.
They can also make the game more accessible and appealing to casual gamers or those who find its current state inaccessible.
What is a Pro Action Replay?
A Pro Action Replay is a cheat device that lets players input different cheats for multiple retro platforms. They manipulate the memory of the game code to allow cheats like more money or more saves.
What is a Game Genie?
A Game Genie is a cheat device, like the Pro Action Replay. They are available for many retro consoles like the NES or Game Boy.
Are the cheats permanent?
No, do not worry. The cheats last until you quit the game. So if you want to change things up again, you can next time you load it up.
What makes a cheat device different?
Since developers intentionally implement traditional cheat codes in their games, not every game has them. But that does not mean players don’t want them. Hence, cheat devices were born. Devices like the Game Genie allow players to do things the developer did not intend, while regular cheat codes are implemented by the developers.
