In case you missed the internet exploding last night, Final Fantasy VII ‘s Cloud Strife is now in Super Smash Bros. The character was added immediately following the December 15 Nintendo Direct. He is joined by a Midgar stage, which comes with him, as well as a Mii Fighter Chocobo hat.
Cloud wields his Buster Sword and summon materia in Super Smash Bros. While the sword attacks are largely what you’d expect, the summons are a fun surprise. He functions a bit like the Pokemon Trainer did, in a way. Say he summons Ramuh. Ramuh will attack everyone except him with a lightning blast.
As for the Chocobo Mii Fighter hat, it’s a Chocobo hat. It looks like the bird’s face and can be worn by any Mii Fighter character.
Cloud and his Midgar stage are $5.99 if you buy them for one system, and $6.99 if you buy them for both systems at once. Likewise, the Chocobo hat is $0.75 for one system and $1.15 for both. It’s always a better deal to get it for both the 3DS and Wii U versions. Hopefully you’ll have no trouble getting him today. It was a little difficult last night when he made his debut.
