Combine the Power of the Xbox One with Your Microsoft Surface Tablet

The Xbox One is a great piece of next-gen tech. However, if you own a Microsoft Surface tablet, a new video brings you a level of integration that you may have yet to tap into.

The video entitled “ Xbox One Tips and Tricks, ” (by Sean Ong via the Xbox Wire) demonstrates exactly what users of both can do by combining the functionally of your tablet with the media hub of your Xbox One. He seamlessly transitions from browsing apps on his Surface tablet (which is mirrored perfectly on the console) and also easily sends other content (like flash videos) from the web to his TV. When asked by Xbox Wire which feature he considered his absolute favorite, Sean said “Hands down, it’s the ability to cast audio and video to my Xbox One (the “play to” functionality) from my Surface. I use that all the time! Controlling over the air TV with my voice is pretty sweet, too. Right now, the bulk of my time on the Xbox One is actually spent on TV, movies, music, and apps – but I’m forecasting a dramatic shift to gaming as more titles become available in 2014 and beyond!”

It’s important to note that many of the features you see in the video do not come standard with the Xbox One, and are things that Sean was able to accomplish by tinkering around with things on his own or online. “I learned about the TV converter box from onlysublime – who I mention in my video and provide a link to in my video description. I also learned about the home button double-tap trick and keyboard trick from others on Reddit.” Sean said.
