Truly, we are living in the time of remasters. They’re so common, they show up with little to no fanfare now! Take Transformers: Fall of Cybertron . It was a decent enough game on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Perhaps even one of the better Transformer games you can play. But now, a remastered version is suddenly dropping on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Today, in fact! Funny how Activision didn’t make a big deal about it.
High Moon Studios did the original Transformers: Fall of Cybertron , but it isn’t responsible for the remaster. Instead, FunLabs has taken the reins. Which isn’t exactly encourgaing, since it’s best known for the Wii and Wii U’s Angry Birds Trilogy , most Cabela’s video games, and the Duck Dynasty game. The $49.99 remaster promises updated graphics, as well as an opportunity to enjoy the multiplayer escapades again.
Basically, the only reasons to get the HD remaster of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron are if you’re a Transformers super-fan or missed the game the first time around. And, even if you did miss it originally, it would be much cheaper to grab a copy of the original game instead. I mean, certainly it’s nice to have the option to play this on current generation systems, but it’s absolutely one of those remastered games that didn’t have to be remastered.
