Dead Space Coming to Wii; EA to Give Console Heavy Support

None

In a conference call with EA’s CEO, John Riccitiello, as picked up by Videogaming24/7, it was announced that Dead Space will be coming to Wii.

The horror, sci-fi zombie shooter was originally released on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, and it was responsible for driving a large portion of EA’s sales.

Now EA is looking to capitalize on the success of the Nintendo Wii by releasing the IP to the console as “an original take on the game that makes full use of the Wii Remote,” says IGN’s Daemon Hatfield.

Perhaps more revealing is the EA chief’s intimation that other IPs will also be making the jump to Wii and that fully half of EA’s software support will be focused on Wii.

“We’re bringing core intellectual property to the Wii. Wii is the market leader – they’re getting half of our emphasis in terms of title count,” said Riccitiello.
