DICE announced today that Battlefield 1943 will be available in June for $15 USD on the PS3 and 1200 MS points for Xbox 360, with the title coming out for PC in September. Battlefield 1943 is a multiplayer, premium downloadable title that will allow up to 24 players to duke it out. Based on maps originally featured in Battlefield 1942, the new battlegrounds have been completely updated using the Frostbite engine (Battlefield: Bad Company), allowing for “total destructibility.” Three “classic and tropic locations” will be on display, including Wake Island, Guadalcanal, and Iwo Jima.
