EA’s Digital Illusions CE announced today that Battlefield 1943, their downloadable online shooter that carries on the spirit of Battlefield 1942, has surpassed the 1 million download mark. Battlefield 1943 is the fastest selling downloadable title on Xbox LIVE Arcade, and surpassing the 1 million sales mark in just five weeks will go a long way toward furthering the quality of future downloadable titles, as companies look to capitalize on digital delivery. DICE also announced that Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the sequel to the excellent FPS spinoff that released in June of 2008, will hit North American shelves on March 2 nd and in Europe on March 5 th . Bad Company 2 will make use of an updated Frostbite Engine, feature squad-based combat, have lots of vehicles in expansive, open environments, and refined single- and multiplayer gameplay.
