Double Crosst Coming Soon!*

None

For all of those that have used cheat codes over the year, be prepared to have a taste of your own medicine. This game is designed to cheat on you.

A new video game, Double Crosst is programmed to cheat. It will do everything it can to win. The challenge is not just to beat the game under normal playing circumstances, but to detect the actual cheating. You have to be careful not to blame the game for your lack of skill. Calling the game a cheater when the fault is yours will cost you lots of points.

“Double Crosst is designed to drive you mad,” says creator Larry B. Crosst. “It will make you paranoid, frustrated and angry with just an unhealthy dose of victimization. You’ll always be wondering if the game is cheating you or if you just suck. But you’ve got to be positive it’s the game that’s cheating or you’ll find yourself in the hole with little hope of getting out,” chuckles Gladhand, “The penalty for a wrong call is severe.”

“I’ve always thought that cheat codes were unfair to games and I want to show players what it’s like to be on the receiving end, it’s a form of revenge of the machines if you will,” Crosst sneers sinisterly.

According to the developers the game has been beta tested extensively for more than three years to ensure the gameplay mechanics are perfect. In this way there won’t be any unintentional flaws or glitches. Any perceived problems will be a result of the game cheating or the operator’s lack of talent.

Double Crosst will include virtually all gameplay genres including platforming, action adventure, puzzles, RPG, shooting, survival, strategy and a host of mini-games that including sports and gambling. The game will attempt to cheat in various ways. It will take points off of your score when it senses you’re not paying attention. Some moves will be delayed or registered wrong. Your health will slowly but steadily deteriorate faster than normal. Merchants will sell you counterfeit weapons and cheap, used armor. Vehicles will have engine trouble and flat tires. Unusual outdoor conditions such as rain and snow are certain to interfere with your activities. Characters will gain weight and become ugly causing NPCs to shun them in disgust.

“When you think the game is cheating you simply press down on the D-pad,” Crosst says. “A menu will pop up giving you a variety of options where you think the game may have cheated you. Select the category and see if you’re right or if you’re the kind of person that just likes to blame others for your ineptness,” Cross once again sneers sinisterly.

“I think this is a marvelous twist on modern gaming,” says game reviewer Burl Ivey. “But how will you know if the game’s not cheating when it says it’s not cheating?”

Double Crosst will be available April Fools Day 2010.
