EA Predicts Next-Gen Sales

EA Predicts Next-Gen Sales

EA predicts big next-gen sales, this according to EA COO.

During a recent Q&A, Peter Moore gave his thoughts on exactly what he foresees for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One’s sales figures as we move into the next-gen cycle: “When I talked to our friends at both Sony and Microsoft and I’m trying to get some indications in the numbers that are going to be available for sale by the end of our fiscal year on March 31 and I aggregate them, I think I can squint and see 10 million units combined, very easily.”

Many reports indicated that Sony had the distinct advantage going into the next-gen, as it was expected that the PlayStation 4 would outsell its competitor the Xbox One. Now it appears the numbers gap has continued to close where things are much more of a tossup.

When speaking about EA’s position in the next-gen marketplace place, Moore said: “We’ve got the right product at the right time. We have not had some of the problems some of our fellow publishers in the industry have been getting. Our quality titles are ready for next-gen. We feel, as we’ve said on previous earning calls, we’re well ahead of this transition and we’re going to nail it.”

EA’s powerhouse franchise Battlefield 4 will also get a next-gen release .
