EA Will Control the NFL A Little Longer

None

A report by the Sports Business Journal has revealed that the exclusivity deal between EA and the NFL has been extended through 2013. Though fans may be saddened about the lack of competition, at least we’ll have a football game to play this year. The Journal revealed that the uncertainty surrounding the next season was tied directly to a few of the stipulations in the new deal.

It is believed that EA and other sponsors received some sort of relief from licensing fees this season, although there was no word on exactly how much. The Wall Street Journal reports that EA requested a $30 million reduction because of the uncertainty surrounding the next season.

So it looks like we’ll have a few more years of EA/NFL exclusivity. Tell us what you think would make for a better football game in the Cheat Code Central forums .
