Earthlock: Festival of Magic Coming to Retail in 2017

The more Kickstarter-savvy among you may remember Earthlock: Festival of Magic , a turn-based RPG that secured $178,000 in funding back in April 2014. It eventually saw digital release on Xbox One and PC/Mac this past September, with ports to PS4, Wii U, and Linux still in the works. While news of the Wii U version remains scarce, the rest are about to get a significant boost in visibility. Developer Snowcastle Games, in cooperation with publisher SOEDESCO, has announced that Earthlock will release at retail for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2017. No price has been announced at this time, but the game currently runs $30 on Steam, so somewhere around that price point seems like a safe bet.

Earthlock features your genre-standard motley crew of would-be heroes, a vast world to explore, a Talent Table system for character progression, and plenty of magical plants to cultivate in the vein of Harvest Moon . Some of the game’s models and animations look a little rough to my admittedly critical eye, but I’ll reserve judgment until I can finally get my hands on the PS4 version. You can view the game’s latest trailer below.
