Can’t contain your excitement for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard ? You may be pleased to know that GameStop is offering a hefty Collector’s Edition of the game. Priced at $180 (yikes), the set includes the game in a steelbook case, a VHS tape box, a lithograph, a “creepy note,” a finger-shaped USB drive, and an 8″ tall Mansion Music Box that plays “Aunt Rhody” to flashing LEDs.
Personally, I can’t help but laugh at the inclusion of the “creepy note” to add another selling point to the back of the box. I hope it’s packaged inside a bloody envelope and reads, “New carrier pigeon, who dis?” The finger-shaped USB drive, while gross, is at least a clever nod to an item featured in the Resident Evil 7 demo.
You can pre-order the Collector’s Edition of the game now at GameStop. Apparently, I haven’t paid attention to Resident Evil 7 ‘s marketing that closely, because I was surprised to find that it releases in two short months on January 24, 2017 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. I can guarantee you that I will be nowhere near a VR headset when I finally decide to play this one.
