In a Famitsu report, as translated and brought to our attention by IGN, Epic Games, the Cary, North Carolina developer and publisher, has decided to open up a branch in Japan. According to the article, “Epic hopes to strengthen its Japanese language support for Unreal Engine 3” by creating a local office. Few games developed in Japan have used the Unreal Engine 3 toolset, and Epic Games thinks getting the tools tailored to Japanese users will open the vibrant Japanese game development community.
