With Etrian Odyssey IV now on shelves, Atlus has turned its attention back to the series’ past, planning a 3DS remake of the original game in the series, now billed as Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl. While its story mode removes some degree of flexibility from the proceedings in favor of a tighter, more engaging story and better-paced gameplay, it will also include a Classic mode that will ask players to, as always, explore and map out the now-3D land of Etria.
The game now has a Western release planned, courtesy of Atlus USA, and is slated to hit North America on October 1, exclusively for the 3DS. The game may be pre-ordered immediately and will retail for $39.99. If classically difficult dungeon crawlers are up your alley, or you happened to love the first Etrian Odyssey and want to play it again, The Millenium Girl is certainly worth a look.
