Fable: The Journey Announced, Uses Kinect

None

Peter Moleneux took the stage at the 2011 Microsoft E3 conference to announce the newest Fable game, Fable: The Journey. Unlike previous games in the series, which were open action-adventures, the newest Fable’s approach seems to be that of an on-rails adventure, the title’s newest features being Kinect-controlled horseback riding and spellweaving. The former is fairly simple, snapping and pulling the reins to control the horse’s speed, but the latter trends toward awesome. Players can use gestures to create magical attacks—thrusting hands down creates lightning, and pushing them together makes a fireball, which can be used to incinerate enemies. Players are also able to compose javelins of ethereal energy and chuck them at distant foes.

Fable: The Journey will be released in Fall 2012.
