So a new Final Fantasy spinoff game called Final Fantasy Explorers is set to come out on the 3DS soon in Japan. The game is slated for a December 18 th release date, which just so happens to have also been the release date of the very first Final Fantasy game ever created. Thus, Square-Enix is bringing back the classic to 3DS owners everywhere.
Not only will Final Fantasy I for the 3DS release on December 18 th , but every body who picks up a copy of Final Fantasy Explorers will get a free download code for the classic game. The game will be sprite based, but will feature high definition sprites, as we have seen in several other Final Fantasy remakes in the past. However, the game will also feature 3D support, which is pretty new for the series.
Right now this promotion has only been revealed for Japanese territories, but if Final Fantasy Explorers manages to come to America, we don’t see why Final Fantasy I wouldn’t come as well. We will keep you updates as new info becomes available.
