TGS 2011: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Gets A Release Date

None

Well JRPG fans, Final Fantasy XIII-2 is finally getting its release date. You’ll be able to find out what happens to Lighting and her crew as early as December if you live in Japan. Of course, the game’s North American release date is January 31, 2012, and its European release date is February 3, 2012.

Coming out only two short years after Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2 features towns, mazelike maps, non-linear, gameplay, side quests, new characters, and even a monster-raising aspect to the battle system.

To commemorate its release, Sony will be releasing a brand new PS3, with a picture of FFXIII’s protagonist Lighting across the top. The new FFXIII PS3s will be made in limited quantities. They will only be available in a 320GB model, and they will retail for 37960 yen. There is no word on whether or not America will be seeing a production run of these limited edition PS3s, but we can only hope. I know more than a few Final Fantasy fans that would jump at the chance at bringing one of these home.
