Final Fantasy XIII Is A Delicate Situation

Final Fantasy XIII Is A Delicate Situation

Does anyone remember when Final Fantasy Versus XIII was first announced? May 2006. Yep, it’s been that long.

FFV XIII was one of the first games teased for the PlayStation 3. However, it’s 2013 now and the PlayStation 3 is about to step down to make room for the PlayStation 4. Yet Final Fantasy Versus XIII still hasn’t been released. Heck, we haven’t even seen gameplay.

According to director Tetsuya Nomura, Final Fantasy Versus XIII is currently a “delicate situation within the company.” This comes from Square’s first official podcast, Square Enix Merchandise Radio . Nomura went on to say that more details will be touched upon in the next Square Enix announcement, but he couldn’t provide a date for when that announcement would be made.

Square has already announced that a big Final Fantasy announcement would be made at E3. Perhaps Final Fantasy Versus XIII is involved? We have also heard rumors that Versus XIII will simply be rebranded into Final Fantasy XV for next generation consoles. Square Enix has not confirmed either of these theories. However, one thing is certain; fans want to see this game, and if Square waits much longer this may become the RPG version of Duke Nukem Forever.
