Why did the frog cross the street? Because it wasn’t chicken. Bringing to life a game that you thought croaked a long time ago. Frogger is back, and it’s bigger and better than anything you can imagine. Frogger has jumped right out of the screen and onto the street. In Frogger: Life is a Highway, you literally guide your character across an actual busy street. Using the special remote control adapter with your DS, PSP, or Vita, a mechanized frog jumps at your commands, attempting to cross the street while avoiding traffic. It’s just like the original game, but with ninety-three percent more reality. The robot Frogger is a high-tech, mechanical device employing expensive plastic polymers. It’s specially designed to have less moving components, and has the ability to contract on impact, making it virtually indestructible. However, the robot frogger is still no match for an 18-wheeler, so be careful and avoid large trucks. Fortunately, the robot Froggers are relatively inexpensive at fifteen bucks a pop. Once you invest in the Frogger: Life is a Highway package, all you will need to do is take it to the street. The game can be played safely on any thoroughfare, highway, freeway, underpass, overpass, bridge, or lane. Only the robot Frogger is in any danger of annihilation. Players stand at the side of the roadway, safely out of harm’s way from traffic. The remote control has a range of three hundred yards, and the neon yellow colors make the robot frog easy to see from a distance. The multiplayer mode of Frogger: Life is a Highway is destined to become one of gaming’s most classic events. Groups of players will converge on the side of a roadway in a race to cross to the other side. Aggressive, offensive, and defensive moves are required as players push, shove, jostle, jump, and generally try to sabotage other players’ robot Froggers. The ultimate challenge is presented in Hero Mode. Recommended only for the most skilled players, the game system itself becomes the robot Frogger. Just attach the robotic mechanism to your DS, PSP, or Vita and attempt to navigate it across the busy thoroughfare. It’s the ultimate risk since you will undoubtedly lose your expensive gaming system under the wheel of a passing vehicle.
