Earlier today, Microsoft confirmed on its official Xbox Wire news website that the Game of Thrones Season 5 premiere episode is now available for free on both Xbox One and Xbox 360. This intriguing episode will only be free until April 16 as part of a special promotional deal between HBO and Xbox.
Fans who get a kick out of the episode will have an option to purchase the entire season at a discount, or to buy individual episodes after they have aired. Previous seasons can also be purchased at any time, too.
I personally think deals like these are beneficial for those who watch most of their shows through an Xbox One or Xbox 360. On the flipside, if you have an iPad or iPhone, HBO is offering a free month of HBO Now to new subscribers. This deal is obviously better than Microsoft’s offering, but it’s at least good to know that customers have a wide array of options to choose from.
