Need a New Computer? In College? Take a Free Xbox 360!

None

In what is either a gracious act of goodwill toward students, or an attempt to get rid of excess stock, Microsoft has announced a deal that will allow students who purchase a computer equipped with Windows 7 (that is priced at $699 or more) to get a free Xbox 360 (the 4GB “S” Model, naturally).

The promotion begins on May 23rd and will run over the course of the summer. If you are planning on taking advantage of this offer, there are two ways to redeem. If you buy your laptop online, all you need to do is enter a valid .edu email address to get your free Xbox 360. However, if you want to buy your computer at a brick-and-mortar store, you just need to bring a valid student ID to get your free console.

The deal seems pretty easy. Even if you already have an Xbox 360, it never hurts to have a backup. You never know when those crimson circles might show up to ruin your day.
