NESBox Isn’t Coming to the Xbox One

NESBox Isn’t Coming to the Xbox One

Were you hoping the Xbox One would turn into the emulator of your dreams? Did you hear about the Nesbox and start hoping for the best? Well, those dreams have been shattered. Nesbox is no longer available in the Windows Store and isn’t coming to the Xbox One. Microsoft put a hit out on it.

Nesbox has been pulled because Microsoft decided it didn’t want the app on Xbox One. This means the emulator won’t show up in the Windows store again until the universal emulator has that support pulled. Once it does, it could be republished. Microsoft also noted that it believes emulators are primarily gaming experiences, and need to go through the ID@Xbox program to be validated for that console, not just the app store.

If the Nesbox does come back, it will give people quite a bit of freedom. This emulator supported Windows 10 computers and phones, letting people play with the HoloLens and Xbox One S controller.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens in this emulator saga. You know how it goes. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. People are determined to get access to the games they want to play.
