GameStop Enters The iMarket

None

GameStop will already pay real money (more like GameStop credit) for your old video games and consoles. What else can it ask you to trade in? Well, are you attached to that old out-of-date iPod of yours?

Yes, GameStop is nowaccepting trade-ins of old iPods, iPads, and iPhones, no matter how old they are. You can trade them in for store credit, or for cash at a 20% lower trade-in rate. Looking to upgrade your first generation iPad? GameStop will pay you two hundred bucks for it. That sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.

Why is GameStop accepting iOS device trade-ins? Well, it appears as if they want to get into the mobile gaming market themselves. Next year, GameStop will be releasing their own “GameStop Certified” Android gaming tablet. This may be the first instance of an Android device made specifically for gaming and not, you know, life organization or telephone operation.

Is it worth it when we can always just get a Droid phone instead? I’m guessing it will all come down to price in the end.
