George Foreman’s KO Boxing is a sports game developed by Beam Software and SIMS Co., Ltd. Released in 1992, the game was poorly received and criticized for its terrible graphics. The game was released on multiple platforms including the SNES, NES, Game Boy, Mega Drive, Game Gear, and Master System but each version of the game was reviewed poorly. It was released in two versions a 16-bit and 8-bit version but it seems like nothing helped its reception.
The Premise Of George Foreman’s KO Boxing
You play as George Foreman, at the ripe age of 43 years old, on a quest to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. The gameplay is very similar to Power Punch II, a previous boxing game by Beam Software. You have the option to block your opponent’s punches, evade in two different directions, and throw a wide variety of punches. You can win by knockout, technical knockout, or by decision. In the 16-bit versions, the game is a little different as you can see a portrait of each boxer alongside their energy meters. A password system is used in career mode to save progress.
