Goo-Wee! Dragon Quest Heroes II Comes West

Goo-Wee! Dragon Quest Heroes II Comes West

Dragon Quest has had quite a year in North America. The series once seemed fated to vanish outside of Japan, especially after fans clamored for the online-only Dragon Quest X for ages only to have their pleas fall on deaf ears. Our fortunes reversed when Dragon Quest Heroes, Dragon Quest VII, and Dragon Quest VIII were confirmed for localization – and it would seem that VIII won’t be the only title to release next year.

We have word that Dragon Quest Heroes II , the next entry in the hack-and-slash spin-off series, will be arriving in North America on April 25, 2017. It will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4. Its release was accidentally leaked via a product listing on Best Buy last month, but only now do we have official confirmation that it’s coming out. Hip, hip, goo-ray!

Dragon Quest Heroes II adds multiplayer, a long-requested feature, to the game. You’ll be able to party up with three other players online to take on swarms of familiar foes. Several new characters also join the roster, including Maribel and Ruff from Dragon Quest VII and Carver from Dragon Quest VI. My favorite character, Yangus, was already in the first game, but I’m still excited to see how these fresh faces will play. We have a debut cinematic trailer for you to ogle below:
