Dragon Quest VII and VIII Coming to 3DS Next Year

Dragon Quest VII and VIII Coming to 3DS Next Year

It’s been a good year for Dragon Quest fans. We’ve seen some new footage for Dragon Quest XI and Dragon Quest Builders , had a ball playing Dragon Quest Heroes and heard whispers of a sequel already in the works, and yesterday Nintendo’s new Direct gave us a couple more things to look forward to in 2016.

Dragon Quest VII and Dragon Quest VIII are both destined for 2016 releases for the Nintendo 3DS here in the states. It’s been hard persuading Square Enix to show its Western fans some love; DQ VII is already available on the 3DS in Japan, and while we can play DQ VIII on our smartphones, the voice acting has been omitted and it just doesn’t feel quite the same. It actually wasn’t made clear whether or not the voice acting is being salvaged for the 3DS version, but we’ll find out when Dragon Quest VII and VIII drop next year. Expect DQ VII early summer, and DQ VIII soon thereafter.
