One of the most exciting announcements that came to us through the latest Nintendo Direct was that Dragon Quest VII (the remade version) and Dragon Quest VIII would be coming to the Nintendo 3DS some time in 2016. No specific date was mentioned, we were just told that DQ VII would come out first, and that VIII would follow shortly thereafter. While we still don’t have an official release date, we can now confirm that Dragon Quest VII will be here sometime this summer.
Nintendo recently sent out this tweet on its official Twitter account: “Sharpen that slime-battling sword and prepare for Dragon Quest VII , launching exclusively for #3DS this summer.” Well we can’t quite mark our calendars yet, but that gives us Dragon Quest fans something to go off of. Personally, I’m waiting for additional details surrounding Dragon Quest VIII and whether it will include all of the original voice tracks. I never got to play the game on PS2, and the lack of voice acting in the Android version has kept me away. As soon as I hear more about either game I’ll get you guys updated.
