Hacker Allegedly Steals DayZ Source Code

Hacker Allegedly Steals DayZ Source Code

Player’s of Bohemia Interactive’s survival game, DayZ , are more than familiar with hackers. Unfortunately, it looks that players of the standalone version of the title may see things get worse before they get better.

A deleted thread on the hacking forum, Unknown Cheats, suggests that the source code may have been accessed by unauthorized users via SQL injection. Bohemia Interactive confirmed to RelyOnHorror that there was indeed evidence of an attack on some of their servers.

Soon after the attack, a PDP tool for debugging the game was posted to Unknown Cheats by a user who goes under the alias, “DevDomo.” If the tool works, it could allow for a wealth of new exploits and hacks to be employed in the popular online game.

Ideally, matters will be cleaned up before the player base begins to diminish from frustration. But, with the source code leaked, who knows how easily the situation will be remedied?
