We’ve got two bits of really important Halo news today. First off, there’s definitely going to be a Halo 6 somewhere in the future. We have absolutely no idea of when, but it will be happening. The next big thing is that Master Chief will be the key focus of Halo 6 .
The top guns at 343 Industries have recently talked about how they have changed their plans for the Halo franchise after the public outcry over Halo 5 . People were incredibly disappointed that there wasn’t much of Master Chief in the game. The studio heads are recognizing that.
Franchise Director Frank O’Connor said, “We very much realized that people wanted Master Chief’s story of Halo 5 . We definitely marketed in a way that we hoped was going to bring surprise, but for some and certainly fans of Master Chief, it was a huge disappointment because they wanted more Chief.” O’Connor went on to say that he wasn’t really surprised by the fan’s disappointment. But what he does realize now is probably the height of Master Chief’s reign.
The fans have spoken, they want Master Chief. 343 Industries is listening. They’re going to focus on creating a more realistic universe for Master Chief to star in. New characters and a larger roster of playable characters isn’t as important anymore.
