TGS 2011: More Halo Anniversary Edition Details

None

Back in the days of the original Xbox, did you ever find yourself shouting at the screen when you got shot in the face with a shotgun? Did you think anyone was listening? Well, with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, now someone will be.

The new CE remake will actually use Kinect voice commands as a control scheme. You can simply talk to your Xbox in order to scroll menus and choose options. An example explained to 1up by Frank O’Connor, Halo franchise development director, is the ability to change the graphics mode simply by saying “classic” or “remastered”. O’Connor also said that there will be other Kinect features that are not core to the gameplay but instead connects with the story somehow. Whatever it is will supposedly be more advanced than simple voice functionality, but he wasn’t prepared to talk about it now. A grand reveal is planned sometime in the middle of October.

The game will be out on November 15, with a $40 suggested retail price. All maps in the game will be downloadable as DLC for Halo Reach, specifically for people who don’t want to drop the $40 on a new game.
