Is Kratos Ditching Greece for Norse Mythology?

Is Kratos Ditching Greece for Norse Mythology?

The season of leaks is still in full swing, and this time we have some pretty interesting concept art for what could be the next God of War . The website NerdLeaks uncovered a stash of concept art from an artist formerly of God of War ‘s Santa Monica Studio. The page and corresponding NerdLeaks Twitter account have gone offline, but thankfully a few heroes have archived the images and posted them to NeoGAF where they safely reside.

What’s interesting about the concept art is that it portrays a character resembling Kratos in settings inspired by Norse mythology. According to Polygon , “…the concept art mentions Kratos by name and indicates that he’ll visit locations like Alfheim and Vanaheimr, two of the Nine Worlds of Norse mythology.” Former GoW director David Jeffe also adds credibility to these rumors, as he’s quoted as saying a focus on Norse mythology has already been seriously considered at one point. Considering that, based on the God of War canon as it stands, Kratos has killed off a majority of the prominent Greek gods, a transition into an alternate pantheon would make for an exciting and fitting change.
