JOY to Take on Gaming!*

None

Gags, pranks, practical jokes, no matter what you call them, they can always be counted on to deliver a hearty, mean-spirited outburst.

Nothing is more fun than reveling in someone’s misfortune. And according to one company, few things are more profitable. That’s the belief of JokesOnYou, or JOY as they are called in the comedy business. The company responsible for the manufacturing of Whoopie cushions, joy buzzers, and rubber chickens has turned its attention to the gaming industry, creating a new line of game-related paraphernalia such as water-squirting consoles and controllers that deliver powerful electric shocks to unsuspecting dupes.

JOY marketing rep, Will Billiam explains that his company wants to branch out in other markets, or as he puts it, “We want to reach out and hurt someone. Of course I’m fooling, the only thing that will be hurt is the gamers’ pride once he discovers he’s the butt of one of our wacky gags,” Billiam chortles.

“We are definitely on the cutting edge this time,” Billiam sighs, “These new gadgets are high tech, and virtually indistinguishable from the real things. We have controllers for all the major consoles that do everything from give the player an electrical shock, to explode in a puff of smoke, not unlike an exploding cigar, the rights to which we already own,” Billiam beams. “We have fake PSPs and DS units that squirt water in the players’ eyes when they press any button. We even have inflatable ones that make a farting sound when you squeeze them,” Billiam says proudly.

“These are just a bunch of old gag repackaged to look like something new,” shouts former circus clown Wilton Farq. “This company hasn’t had an original idea in the last two centuries,” Farq continues, “These are nothing but overpriced novelties with no lasting appeal.”

Billiam response is brief and concise, “That clown is crazy. He used to work for us but was fired for not wearing underwear. We know this because he also didn’t wear pants.”

Along with the classic assortment of gags, JOY has also teamed up with developers to create alternate “joke” versions of popular games. Titles such as Super Mario 3, Grand Theft Auto 3, Halo and World of Warcraft will be reprogrammed with unexpected and hilarious scenarios. For instance, in Super Mario 3, Mario will often stop to urinate behind a block, holding up the game. Eventually he will graduate to diarrhea that can be used as a weapon against Koopa. All of these games will have packaging and labels that look identical to the originals.

“These joke games are so good that everyone will want to play them just to see what happens next,” Billiam states. “But nothing can compare to the look on the face of a gamer that doesn’t realize it’s a joke. He starts thinking he’s going nuts or something; you can’t buy that kind of entertainment. At least not until now,” Billiam concludes.

If you’re serious about joking around, then you’ve got to check out the new line of gamer gags from JOY. Look for them this summer.
