Kerbal Space Program Acquired by Take-Two

Kerbal Space Program Acquired by Take-Two

Kerbal Space Program , a simulator of sorts in which players attempt to build functioning spaceships, is no longer fully considered an indie game. Take-Two Interactive, owners of developers like 2K Games and Rockstar, has purchased the IP in a move to continue growing a quiet support of smaller titles.

Kerbal Space Program was a Steam Early Access success, quickly gaining momentum and not only making its way to consoles, but also attracting the attention of educational facilities and various organizations such as NASA and SpaceX. In fact, Kerbal Space Program can be purchased by schools at a discounted rate.

During a Q&A meeting announcing the purchase, Take-Two announced its acquisition of the IP. Although developer Squad was not also purchased, it will continue to work on the game. Expansions are currently in development, and Take-Two’s involvement is largely meant to boost resources and allow the console versions to get way more support and bring them to parity with the PC version.
