Sony has come out and officially confirmed the development of Killzone 3. Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein posted an entry featuring Killzone 3 impressions from an exclusive game reveal event in Amsterdam by Guerilla Games, attended by SCEE’s James Gallagher. According to Mr. Gallagher, “Killzone 3 picks up where its predecessor left off and it’s a much grander experience in terms of scale and ambition. There will be more variety, more enemy types, massive environments and a broader vision of the planet Helghan and its many terrains.” Players who’ve followed the series, even onto the PSP, will be happy to know that Jetpack Troopers will be incorporated into Killzone 3, hinting at more open environments, and that the game is slated to support 3D output. Below you’ll find a few screens released that show off the snow-covered level on display at the event as well as a shoot of the Jetpack Trooper.
