When you think of Mad Catz, you probably think of inexpensive controllers, fighting game joysticks, and rhythm game peripherals. However, Mad Catz is looking to change all that with its announcement of the formation of ThunderHawk studios. This new development studio will fall under the Mad Catz brand and will be responsible for creating games that tie in to Mad Catz peripherals.  The first project for ThunkderHawk studios will be a flight simulator MMO for the PC that will be sold with a joystick specific to the game. Mad Catz has not released any information about the name of the project or how much this new peripheral-based game is going to cost. Hopefully, since the peripheral and the game will both be developed in-house, the price will be fairly reasonable. The currently untitled flight simulator MMO is scheduled to be released in early 2012, and I’m sure more projects from ThunderHawk will be announced soon. |
