Right now, only people with Xbox Ones can make new maps and experiences for Halo 5 . Which makes sense. It’s the only platform the game is on, so of course the Halo Forge creation tools are there. Except later this year, Microsoft will shake things up. Halo Forge will come to Windows 10 PCs.
It’s sounding like Forge – Halo 5: Guardians Edition could end up being the definitive edition of the application. People will be able to make everything with a keyboard and mouse, instead of being restricted to a controller. You can even have friends come and help you build, all while using resolutions up to 4k. Once you have something you like, you can publish and play the experience or level in Halo 5 on an Xbox One.
Unfortunately, this isn’t an announcement that Halo 5 is coming to Windows 10. Still, getting a better way to make things in Forge for consoles is pretty amazing. I think it’s something we’ll all benefit from!
