Spawned from a fan-made trailer with some serious star power, Mortal Kombat Legacy has been Kevin Tancharoen’s live-action web-series set in the gritty mythology of Mortal Kombat. Now that its run is complete, the show is taking its nine episodes from the fiber-plains of YouTube to the shelves of your local video store. Mortal Kombat Legacy is coming to Blu-ray and DVD.

Not content to deliver the series on its own, however, Warner Home Video is bringing along a suite of special features:

  • Mortal Kombat Legacy: Fights – A behind the scenes look at the stunts and fight choreography of the Mortal Kombat Legacy web-series, along with meditations on the roles Fatalities and violence play in the Mortal Kombat story.

  • Mortal Kombat Legacy: Fan Made – An interview with series director, and Mortal Kombat fan, Kevin Tancharoen.

  • Mortal Kombat Legacy: Expanding The Netherrealm – Documents the process of taking Mortal Kombat from polygons to live-action in a believable and interesting way.

  • Mortal Kombat: Mysticism and Mortal Kombat: Gear – Two features looking at the abilities and weapons of Mortal Kombat’s famous retinue of martial artists.



    Those interested in purchasing the series will have to wait until November 8.
