Fighting games are no strangers to crossovers, with recent examples being Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe and the recently announced Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Even Street Fighter and Tekken are getting into the mix with their pair of crossovers Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter. While these matchups are great, we’re still waiting to see the main event of nineties fighting games, MK vs. Street Fighter.  Fortunately, this fact has not been lost on NetherRealm producer Hector Sanchez, who claimed the crossover is “inevitable” (via CVG). In fact, Sanchez states that Ed Boon even pitched the concept ten years ago. However, he also claims the creation of this title “depends on the success of Street Fighter X Tekken.” The matchup may also have some issues that need attended to before it gets made, with Sanchez positing “I’m not sure Capcom would be happy with Scorpion ripping Ken’s head off.” |
