You would think that upcoming crossover titles Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter would be collaborative efforts, but each game will be developed independently by the developer responsible for the first franchise in each respective title. So that means Capcom will be the only company working on Street Fighter X Tekken and Namco will be the only developer on the Tekken X Street Fighter game.  What is the reason for this lack of cooperation? According to developers at Capcom, it is because Namco and Capcom are rivals, and the purpose of these games is to finally find out who is better. Though that sounds a bit like some cleverly-spun PR, it is still quite interesting that the developers are not working with each other at all on such high-profile releases. |
