Tekken X Street Fighter Still Coming To Current Gen

Tekken X Street Fighter Still Coming To Current Gen

None

With nary a word on the NAMCO Bandai end of the Street Fighter and Tekken crossover deal (not since the first test images of a Tekken-esque re-imagining of Ryu’s character model made the internet rounds almost a year ago), there has been quiet speculation that NAMCO’s Tekken X Street Fighter might be skipping the current generation of hardware, proceeding directly onto the next.

Harada, today, has decided to put such rumors to rest. Tekken X Street Fighter is, as of now, still being developed for the current generation of hardware, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. He did, however, express uncertainty as to whether this would be the title’s final direction:

“We’re not completely sure, but that’s the direction at this moment.”

This leaves weasel room for a sudden shift in development platform, and the Street Fighter X Tekken/Tekken X Street Fighter pairing could be the first pair of cross-over competitors to be split over console generations.
