Street Fighter X Tekken a Ways Off

Street Fighter X Tekken a Ways Off

None

The rumor we reported on last week held true, with Capcom and Namco Bandai officially unveiling Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter at Comic-Con. Now that we know that the games actually exist, the next big question is, when can we get our hands on a copy? According to an interview held between Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono and Famitsu (via Andriasang), eager fans may want to pace their excitement.

While Ono stated that the Street Fighter X Tekken game would likely come out prior to the Tekken X Street Fighter title, he said the plan was to release the game two years after its announcement. He also remarked that both games would be developed separately, with neither side influencing the other. Being developed in this way, the games themselves would almost seem like a competition between the two companies, much like the brawls likely to occur within the games. Ono stated “We’d like to challenge one-another in all areas, including sales, and get fans of both series excited.” Besides the distant release date, I’d say it is working.
