Xenon 2: Megablast is a vertically scrolling shooter that was initially released for the Amiga and Atari ST. After its release, Xenon 2: Megablast received ports to other consoles like Master System, PC-98, X68000, Mega Drive, Commodore CDTV, Game Boy, Acorn Archimedes, and Atari Jaguar. Xenon 2: Megablast was developed by the Bitmap Brothers and was their third major game.

Once it hit the market, Xenon 2: Megablast was showered with praise from fans and critics. Xenon 2: Megablast received exclusive high scores from critics. The game’s fast-paced action and addictive gameplay made it a must-play game on the Amiga and Atari ST.

Xenon 2: Megablast takes place a full millennium after the events of the first game. The evil aliens known as the Xenites have returned. The Xenites have a new plan to destroy the human race. These aliens have planted five deadly bombs throughout history. It is up to the player to prevent these bombs from going off and to defeat the Xenite army.

Xenon 2: Megablast Main Character

In Xenon 2: Megablast players will take on the role of an unnamed starship pilot who has been sent to disarm the five bombs. Throughout each level, players will pilot the Megablaster, a fully equipped battlecraft. The Megablaster is armed with a raygun and a powerful shield to protect against enemy attacks. Players will need all their skills to survive each level and save the human race.

Xenon 2: Megablast Series

The Xenon series was the first game series developed by the Bitmap Brothers. The very first Xenon game was released in 1988 and followed the player’s fight against the Xenites. There are multiple cheat codes that players can access in Xenon 2: Megablast. These cheat codes allow players to skip levels, become immune to damage, or unlock unlimited lives.
